Process Safety Engineer - JACOBS ZATE

To provide risk management (safety, reliability and environmental) services to the various Design and Construction functions.
To identify the safety engineering scope of work in FEED documentation.
Input to and / or leading of PHSER (Project HSE Review) and EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) reviews.
o Lead all aspects of project Loss Prevention
o To promote Safety & Risk Management systems to clients and within Jacobs.
o Specific accountabilities are listed below.
o To be able to determine and estimate norms to conduct the scope of work. Develop, appraise and comment on project deliverables including procedures, design basis and HSE Plan, Loss Prevention Philosophy, Fire Prevention and Protection Philosophy, Isolation Philosophy, & Schedules of Activities.
o Network and inter-discipline departments. Interface management with the client.
o Attend and provide input to HAZID (Hazard Identification) workshops.
o Attend and provide input to HAZOP workshops.
o Attend and provide input to EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) workshops.
o Perform Fire & Explosion Analysis.
o Define preliminary Hazardous Areas and associated design criteria during FEED and critically assess detailed design for compliance.
o Perform Fire Protection related studies for projects.
o Appraise and comment on Formal Safety Assessments.
o Complete and / or contribute to Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Assessments.
o Attend and provide input to SIL Assessments.
o Define design requirements for Safety Systems during FEED.
o Contribute to Design Safety Reviews / Studies, Layout, EERA (Evacuation, Escape and Rescue Analysis), ESSA (Emergency Systems Survivability Analysis), F&G, Dropped Object, Hazardous Area.
o Provide Active Fire Protection Design basis.
o Provide Passive Fire Protection Design basis.
o To Determine the Major Accident Hazard events and to apply a formalised approach of Hazard Management to identify and provide means of mitigation and reduction of such hazards.
o Manage a team of professional and technical personnel.
o Act as mentor to graduate, design and project engineers, technicians and technical specialists.
Through Audit activities ensure the project develop implement and maintain a specific project Risk Management Plan
Through Audit activities ensure the project develop implement and maintain a site-specific Project HSE Plan
Monitor compliance with all legislative requirements (for the location) including the dissemination of information to managers and employees regarding amendments and / or additions to requirements as they come into effect.
