Position: Civil Engineer
Location: Afghanistan
Salary: Competitive and dependent upon experience
Global Staffing Solutions is looking to aid our Client, an organisation which has many years of experience providing construction and infrastructure solutions within the UK and around the world, in the recruitment of a Civil Engineer.
The Company:
Established in May 2011 and with offices and operations in the UK, Middle East and Africa, our Client has management and staff with extensive experience in delivering regional, national and global construction projects at all levels. These include surveying and design, infrastructure development, commercial building, civil engineering, facilities management and procurement and construction services. They have worked with a wide number of partners including government bodies, local communities and other stakeholders.
They have been successful in delivering expeditionary contracts overseas for International Armed Forces, Government Agencies including the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Department for International Development as well as The United Nations, Aid and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs).
The Civil Engineer will form a vital part of the design team reporting directly to the company’s Afghan Design Team Manager. The incumbent will lead and participate in technical discussions with the remainder of the design team and be able to contribute to value engineering solutions.
Responsibilities:
Preparing high-level analysis and design and detailed designs as required including supporting design calculations.
Report writing against civil based activities such as method of works and risk assessments.
Ability to specify civil standards for example BS EN 8001 against construction methodology.
Liaising and dealing with other members of the team on projects.
Assisting the team leader with current project.
Developing relationships with our current clients and contacts
Measurement from plans onsite.
Onsite measuring.
Attending weekly meetings with Client for updates.
Production of As-laid drawings to support invoicing submission.
Quantification of works executed to be transferred to as-laid.
