Contracts Engineer
• Responsible to the Section head projects for provision of all information necessary for
small projects running in the Airport, relating to airport buildings, runway, taxiways and
other pavements, and security fence.
• Study the requirements of user and prepare detailed report with drawings, associated
with the airport buildings, pavements, security fencing etc.
• Workout the budgetary costs, Send to be sent to Director Engineering and Development
for the approvals.
• Design, prepare, detailed drawings and specifications. Send for inviting the quotations to
purchase section, through Director Engineering and Development.
• Study the offers from the contractors, decide the contractor and forward to Director
Engineering and Development for approvals.
• Coordinating the existing services that may be affected by the projects.
• Scheduling of modifications, alterations and minor contracting work associated in liaison
with the Maintenance sections, with the airport buildings, plant and equipment.
• The obtaining and preparation of information for lists of materials and labour content in
the preparation of estimates and specifications for works, to be undertaken by
Engineering.
• Preparation of Bill of Quantities as required by the projects.
• Meetings with Contractors
Engineering & Development
• The monitoring and inspection of all contracting and development work and attendance
of meetings as required.
• Preparation of Security passes and Work Permits for the contractor's works and
workmen,
• Supply management control information as required by Assistant Director Engineering &
Development.
• Preparation and submission of engineering reports, in connection with engineering
works and equipment, as necessary.
• Be prepared to attend the Airport for emergencies and other essential attendance,
outside normal working hours, as required.
• Inundation of as built drawings on completion of projects.
• The preparation of drawings and specifications" relating to improvements, extensions
and design of developments at the airport, together with the necessary requirements.
• Liaison with companies and professional bodies, through co-ordinate meetings, to bring
this about.
• Supply management control information as required by the Assistant Director
Engineering & Development.
• Set up and maintain a comprehensive Technical Library, including, equipment
maintenance manuals and all Engineering plans and drawings and indexed plan chests.
• Assists in preparation of fiscal budget for submission to the Projects Section head and
Assistant Director Engineering & Development
• Co-operation between the Administration and Commercial Department and Engineering
of all insurance claims, from inception to the finalization of claims, by obtaining
quotations and necessary documentation to effect the claim, and maintenance of
records.
• Liaison with the Purchasing Section for all items purchased with "Request Orders" and
contracting works.
• Confers with Project Section Head and Assistant Director Engineering & Development in
all matters related to Planning and Control, design and airport development activities
and takes instructions from him.
• Be prepared to attend the Airport for emergencies and other essential attendance,
outside normal working hours, as required.
• Supervises all projects carried out in the Airport, even those done by contractors of
clients or companies working in the Airport premises.
• Performs related duties as assigned by Assistant Director Engineering & Development.
• Prepares Quality Control, procedures documents and forms as necessary.
• The above list of duties may be modified and revised as necessary.
